6 Day Serengeti Migration Safari
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is a national park in Tanzania's Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. During the dry season thousands of animals concentrate in Tarangire National Park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas.
Tarangire covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers (1,100 square miles).

Travel to the North-Central Gate of the Serengeti
Here we can pass the "Oldoinyo Lengai" meaning “The Mountain of God” in the Maasai language. The summit of this strato-volcano is 2962 metres above sea level, and affords direct views into the caldera of Tanzania’s only officially-certified active volcano, and the world’s only carbonatite volcano; records of eruptions have been maintained since 1883, the largest of which deposited ash 100 kilometres away in Loliondo on the Kenyan border to the north west.

The Maasai are indigenous to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The Maasai Mara in Kenya is named after the tribe. In the village you will experience the culture and traditions of the Maasai people and if you are handsome and of the female persuasion you may even be asked to join the chief’s 3 or 4 other wives! At day’s end we head back to Arusha for your return flight.
