Mass migration of a Million-Plus Wildebeest
The Serengeti is famous for the twice yearly mass migration of a million-plus wildebeest followed by all their predators. As the rains end in May, the animals start moving northwest into the areas around the Grumeti River, where they typically remain until late June. The crossings of the Grumeti and Mara rivers beginning in July are a popular safari attraction because crocodiles are lying in wait. This is a great opportunity for photography and video enthusiasts as the animals charge through rivers and forests to escape the predators.
You will be staying in a mid-range tented lodge with all facilities for comfort and security.
Accommodation : Serengeti Heritage Tented Camp

Serengeti Migration Route South
This leg may be customizable at the starting point of your safari. You may wish to spend an extra day on the migration route. This will depend on availability and accommodation. Meanwhile, covering the distance from Serengeti park centre to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater you will follow and overtake the Serengeti migration route south. After your final drive through the Serengeti you will settle for one night on the crater rim of the Ngorongoro Crater before the morning game drive through the crater. With an early morning start, you will see the game at its most active - morning feeding time.
Accommodation : Rhino Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater
The Ngorongoro Crater - another world heritage site offers visitors a pristine, enclosed environment for many protected species of wildlife concentrated within 250 sq. km. Ngorongoro Crater is a must-see on any safari.
You may also see some of the Maasai tribe who historically roam between Tanzania and Kenya along the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara. They are traditionally animal herders, huntsmen and warriors. They play a vital role in animal conservation in the parks. It may be possible, if time allows, to stop in a Maasai village to witness their traditional way of life. This will be complementary to your safari. You will then travel on to your starting point in Arusha. From there we can take you back to the airport.

Undertaking a climb of Kilimanjaro is a proper mountain expedition and as your crew has to carry everything from the gate all the way around and up to your last camp your support team will be quite a large one.
You’ll have a big support crew for your trek. For 2 trekkers typically you’ll have 1 head guide, an assistant guide, a chef, and around 10 porters, some of whom will do additional work, for example, waiter, kitchen assistant, water collectors, tent erectors. And you don’t need to do any work on the mountain our crew will prepare the camp and all equipment ready for your arrival and pack up the camp in the morning after your departure.
We hand-pick all of our crew so you have the best. Your crew can turn your trek from a punishing slog to a lifetime of unique, happy memories. So we look after our crew -we believe that a happy crew makes a happy trek.
We are committed to raising the standards of a porter’s welfare. The porters are allowed to carry a maximum of 20 kg according to park regulations and we ensure that is strictly adhered to. We also pay over the minimum wage and intend to increase salaries in accordance with the cost of living. Their work is invaluable and must be recognised by paying fair salaries and providing good standards of food, tents, and mountain clothing.
Your head guide has ultimate responsibility for you and your fellow climbers as well as the crew whilst on the mountain.
All our guides are fully licensed by KINAPA. There is a comprehensive training program and assessment in order to qualify as a guide which includes high-altitude first aid and rescue. Additionally, all our guides have several years of experience climbing Kilimanjaro and leading expeditions. They have a huge range of experiences to draw upon to make your climb safe and successful.
